Marriage Italian Style -Design meets ceramic craftsmanship
Ceramics designed by Ugo La Pietra, Ceramica Gatti 1928 and FOS Ceramiche
(curated by Viola Emaldi and Raffaella Fossati)
Relying on the excellence of Italian craftsmanship has been key to the establishment, the success and the most iconic realisations of Italian Design from the 1950s onwards. Projects and ideas of visionary minds would have not gone so far without skilled hands able to flawlessly turn concepts into objects.
This joint exhibition of contemporary craft galleries MADEINBRITALY – London and FattoAdArte – Milan explores the powerful combination of conceptual vision and skilled craftsmanship showcasing ceramic pieces designed by the internationally renowned designer Ugo La Pietra and realised for (and with) him by Ceramica Gatti 1928 and FOS Ceramiche. A selection of ceramics representative of the contemporary production of the two manufacturers based in Faenza will also be on display: pieces in Italian majolica and lustre by Ceramica Gatti 1928 and exquisite porcelain works by FOS Ceramiche.
